What is a Web App?

Last Updated: Sep 10, 2013 11:32AM UTC
Are you fed up with expensive developer fees or nervously waiting for your app to be approved for the app stores?  Then say "Hello" to the Web App!

Web Apps are revolutionary and can be published instantly by anyone for free. Using the latest HTML5 technology your App will magically work across all popular devices such as iPhone, iPad, Android, and Windows.  They can even be viewed on Smart TV's!

When you view your Web App on a laptop or desktop computer it will be displayed within a frame to mimic how it will appear on a mobile device.  However, when you open your Web App link on a mobile device it will appear full screen just as a native application would.  Why don't you see for yourself by opening your Web App link in your mobile device browser?  You can find your Web App link at anytime by choosing Go Live from the sidebar of TheAppBuilder.

The very first time you launch your Web App you will need an Internet or data connection to load the app data.  Once the app data has loaded it will remain available for offline use, so you don't need to remain connected to the network.  Please note that if your device is offline you will not be able to receive app updates, and clearing your browser history will require you to download the app data again.
